Camosun celebrates inaugural college-wide Graduation Ceremony

On June 1, 2002 Camosun College launched its first-ever college-wide graduation ceremonies at G.R. Pearkes Arena, bringing together graduates and faculty from across the college in business, arts, sciences, health and human services, trades, technologies, access and Indigenous education programs to be honoured in one overall event. Previously, each School held their own individual graduation ceremonies.

Camosun’s first Distinguished Alumni Award was presented at the event to Barry Dodd, a 1976 graduate of Camosun’s Applied Communications program. Dodd was recognized for his 25-year success in the broadcast media industry and his professional commitment to the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. At the time, Barry Dodd was the Program Director at Victoria’s New VI television station.
