Following 14 years of competing off-campus, the Camosun Chargers secure a home in the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence with the opening of the new building on the college’s Interurban campus.
The world-class facility features a double court gymnasium with international height ceiling, large fitness centre with a high performance area, athletic therapy room, team rooms, change rooms, classrooms, a sport research and innovation centre, erg centre, the Alex Campbell all-weather turf field and a 400-metre track.
The ability to train, practice and host large-scale events under one roof was a major game-changer for the Chargers, who quickly earned a reputation for being one of the top intercollegiate championship hosts across Canada. Over the past eight years, the Chargers have hosted three PACWEST Championships and two CCAA National Championships, attracting thousands of fans from near and far.
