Camosun hires an Ombudsperson to assist students

Camosun hires an Ombudsperson and becomes one of only three community colleges in Canada to do so.

Janet Hacker, a former Dean of Residence for Queen Margaret’s School in Duncan and previous Executive Director of Woodstock YWCA, was appointed the college’s first Ombudsperson in 1992 for a term of two years.

The Ombudsperson’s role at Camosun is to act impartially to receive and investigate student concerns, report on findings and assist in reaching equitable settlements.
